Yet the best composers of the time were able to break new musical ground, and in so doing succeeded in creating an entirely new style of music. It was during the early part of the seventeenth century that the genre of opera was first created by a group of composers in Florence, Italy, and the earliest operatic masterpieces were composed by Claudio Monteverdi http://kulhu.com/?library/alfred-accent-on-performance-concert-favorites-collection-clarinet-2-book. Instruments made before 1932 were seldom lacquered, almost all were silver plated, sometimes gold plated. George Bundy operated a New York retail store for Selmer for several years. "Selmer New York" saxes are fairly common, but have nothing to do with the French instruments. All were bought from American manufacturers and stenciled with Selmer's name ref.: http://kulhu.com/?library/concerto-for-clarinet-new-edition-clarinet-and-string-orchestra-with-harp-and-piano. Since the middle of the 19th century the bass clarinet (nowadays invariably in B♭ but with extra keys to extend the register down a few notes) has become an essential addition to the orchestra. The clarinet family ranges from the (extremely rare) BBB♭ octo-contrabass to the A♭ piccolo clarinet ref.: http://jukkarintamaki.com/?books/alfred-ultimate-movie-instrumental-solos-for-clarinet-book-cd. In other words the series 1F, 3F, 5F etc where F is the fundamental frequency, which is about 130 Hz for the hypothetical clarinet with all holes closed. (In practice, the A clarinet plays a series starting on C#3 and the Bb clarinet D3 and higher notes, because their cylindrical sections are shorter than the flute epub.
The harmonic series of notes is explained in terms of the standing waves of the instrument on the page Pipes and harmonics. This page also explains why sound spectra of notes in the low range of the clarinet have only weak even harmonics in their sound spectra http://fundelight.com/lib/violin-concerto-no-2-op-58-clarinet-1-and-2-parts-a-1974. It is not common knowledge how old music - instrumental music - really is. What we learnt at school is probably outdated at best, but mostly really wrong. We use to think that instruments came up not long before Sumeria. But flutes from bones have already been well known and used in the Stone Age. The oldest flute that we have today is from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, and is approximately 35,000 years old http://kulhu.com/?library/rigoletto-act-iii-aria-la-donna-e-mobile-tenor-clarinet-2-part-qty-7-a-3141. Never dented or dinged in any way, but several of the key touches have been replated. George Bundy at one time sold wood Bundy clarinets, which were from one of the Alexandre (Selmer Paris) plants and not the specific Selmer Paris plant as some suggest. You could say the Alexandre clarinets were Selmer Paris prototype clarinets. Alexandre Selmer is a Selmer, but not a Henri Selmer and then Alexandre did design the new Henri Selmer clarinets which of course resemble his clarinets http://kulhu.com/?library/lennon-and-mc-cartney-for-clarinet. Chris Hein – Winds consists of four parts, this part Vol 2 , source: http://studentsofpakistan.org/library/symphonische-suite-no-1-clarinet-2-part-qty-2-a-5259. Mark Chudnow Woodwinds has been selling new and used instruments for over 25 years. During that time we have discovered that often when a used instrument is sent out for trial to a prospective buyer the instrument is rejected not because of its inherent quality or characteristics, but as a result of the instruments failure to perform at its best due to poor condition or disrepair http://kulhu.com/?library/les-contes-d-hoffmann-clarinet-1-part-a-2321. It's a bit of an outlay - but think how much it... https://t.co/qENKsXyjBp George Lewis bought his one & only metal clarinet at Werlein’s Music Shop on Canal Street, New Orleans in 1936. It was, of course, a clarinet in the Albert system, made by the well-known American Harry PEDLER woodwind company of Elkhart, Indiana in 1932 http://georgiabluephotography.com/books/mefistofele-clarinet-2-part-a-4654. The Kessler Custom line also features the best value on the market including our Kessler Custom Low C Bass Clarinet! Chris Bleth plays orchestral woodwinds (oboe, English horn, flutes, clarinets, recorders and saxophones) as well as world-music wind instruments (duduk, Irish whistle, bamboo flutes) http://kulhu.com/?library/13-intermediate-clarinet-quartets-bb-bass-clarinet. In the third example, we have a rather extreme use of the system. It is an orchestral work for piccolo, 2 flutes (1 of whom doubles on piccolo), 1 oboe, 2 clarinets plus an additional bass clarinet, 1 bassoon, 2 horns, 2 trumpets (plus an optional 2 cornets), 3 trombones, no tuba, percussion, tympani, 6 first violins, 6 second violins, 4 violas, 3 cellos, 2 double basses, Eb clarinet (as an additional chair, not doubled), 5 saxes (soprano, 2 alto, tenor & baritone) & a trombone soloist ref.: http://kulhu.com/?library/old-norwegian-melody-with-variations-op-51-composers-orchestration-clarinet-1-and-2-parts. BUFFET-CRAMPON Pre-R-13 clarinet, #29,431 made in France in late 1945 or 1946. It's an extra fine and little used example from Buffet's "Golden Era". Keywork shows no wear to the rings and hinge-tubes. The silver plate is new, as the instrument came to us with raw nickel-silver keys. The tenons are sharp, with minimal "rounding off" epub. EXAMPLES OF BARITONE AND BASS SAXOPHONES RECENTLY SOLD BY WICHITA BAND INSTRUMENT COMPANY: Good Selmer-USA "Bundy" (Buescher) baritone saxophone, "1256" model, serial number 947,19x (late nineties?). It's one of the Buescher saxes made after Selmer-USA bought the company ref.: http://www.dreampicture.fr/?freebooks/serenade-no-1-op-11-clarinet-1-part-qty-2-a-1191. I suppose the cheapest way to go would have been Craigslist or Ebay, but to get the perfect flute for our little Rampal, we took the El to the Fine Arts Building (an attraction in itself with music wafting from the halls and a real elevator operator) to visit Sam Gordon at Gordon Woodwinds. He had six flutes ready for our appointment, and treated my daughter as if she were a professional flautist pdf.
